The Love Of Thousand Mothers
With Holy acts and sacrifice on this earth, by controlling mean thoughts and cultivating devotion for God and developing the feelings of love, live your life ever thus.
Man is very intelligent but he knows not in which direction to use it. The cause is Maya. Every man is being made to dance by the dancer (nartaki) of illusion. He should understand this. To overcome nartaki reverse it, i.e. NAR + TA + KI become KI + TA + NAR or kirtana. By kirtana i.e. singing the praise of the lord, we tread the path of devotion.
To forget all unreal and dwell in the real is sadhana. To have the wisdom of the Self is sadhana. It is not performing rituals like yaga, yagna, etc.
Many women feel unhappy as they do not participate in any sadhana. Keeping the house good and clean, keeping the children happy and helping the husband, is all sadhana. Performing one's own duty is true sadhana. Process of cooking involves intense sadhana.
Separating stones from the rice is sadhana. It is called Gunatraya Vibhaga Yoga.
While cutting vegetables, pretend you are cutting the bad qualities with the knife of wisdom. You rinse the knife and vegetables in the water of love and cook over the flames of vignana. You also add the salt of sincerity and the chili powder of devotion.
For tiffin, some make purees. When rolling purees, realize that you are expanding not only the puree but the heart as well. Cleaning the room is to be thought of as cleaning the heart.
We see many people who appear to be men of renunciants with ochre robes but holding on to their egos and attachments. Adi Shankara went around the country interpreting the Vedas. He met Mandla Mishra. His wife is Ubhaya Bharathi and one of wisdom. She started an ashram and stayed there propagating the Dharma of household women. One day when she was going to collect water with her disciples, she saw a sanyasi who had attachment to his pot though he appeared to be a renunciant. She commented about this. The sanyasi heard this and threw the pot away. After she collected the water, on the way back, she saw the pot lying down and said, "Oh this sage not only has attachment but also ego". At this the sanyasi realized his faults and fell at her feet. After teaching him in the proper way, he felt the need for renunciation. Whatever is done with ego and attachment is useless.
Renunciation does not men giving wealth and going to forests. We should give up (sacrifice) bad feelings, thoughts, actions and qualities.
Only two planets are catching man and putting man to all suffering. They are anger and attachment. All we have to do is discharge our duty properly. Each should follow his ashrama dharma. Think of God and make good use of your time.
A garland is full of flowers. The thread exists always but the flowers are not always the same. Youth is like the bud, it blossoms and later like the flowers, it will fade out. Thread is the principle of life as it will not change. But the flowers call jivas change. The thread remains the same in all three times. This is called Brahma Sutra. We don't need to bother about the things that change. But we have to change to find the nature of the thread.
A glass of water has undissolved sugar at the bottom. If you stir the water and sugar with a spoon, it will become sweet syrup. So too, in the tumbler of the heart, if you stir the sugar called Divinity and water of worldly matter with the spoon wisdom you get the sweet Divinity. To stir, you need to think of God.
Thyagaraja searched for Rama by moving from place to place but later realized that God exists everywhere. You are God. Body is the temple and heart is the seat of God. Such Divinity must be recognized. Don't ridicule others. They are paramatmas. Do not criticize or humiliate anyone for God is present in them. Whenever we know such Divinity, why should we worry?
The boy who spoke today and his brother have kept their promise. Their mother died when they were young and so Swami has taken care of them and given them a thousand mothers' love. From that day, they have never shed a tear because of their full faith in Me. The boy said SAI MOTHER. Tender hearts know well the power of promise. They know Swami will take care. One day, the younger brother remembered his mother and didn't eat food. Swami comforted him like a mother and since that day he has been smiling. Elders do not understand that sacred love. It gives all courage and valour. Swami takes care like a thousand mothers. With one promise of love you can lead the life in peace. With this one word you will have all the powers. The recipients of God's grace can achieve anything.
Everyone must understand Divinity and conduct himself properly. It is enough if we forget bad qualities. Students must develop a spirit of unity. Some students think that Swami is not talking to them. Swami takes care of each and every small matter. The luxuries and comforts come and go. Love attracts love. Observe discipline with love. Talk with love and do not use harsh words.
