RECENT ADDITIONS TO SAI DARSHAN (1998)

  1. Sai Darshan wishes all its readers A HAPPY, HEALTHY AND PROSPEROUS NEW YEAR. Please join us in welcoming the New Year 1999, with a message from our dear Lord Sai about some useful New Year resolutions.
  2. A new Festival Calendar has been added for 1999 and it includes the Divine Message for the New Year Day.
  3. The section on Divine Discourses has been reorganized to make it easy for devotees to browse through. You now have the option of viewing the discourses arranged in reverse chronological order or by festivals. In either case, you see a list of years (festival names) with a sign next to it. Clicking on this sign will enable you to see a list of discourses available for that year (festival). Once a particular year (or festival) is expanded, the sign changes to a sign. You can now click on individual discourses to retrieve them. You can click on the sign to close the list of discourses for that year (festival).

    A number of discourses delivered by Bhagavan in previous years have been added to the Discourse section. The list includes a couple of New Year Discourses delivered by Bhagavan in the past.

  1. Bhagavan Baba's 73rd Birthday is being celebrated all over the world on November 23, 1998. On this holy occasion, Sai Darshan presents a selection of important discourses for Swami's Birthday, delivered by Bhagavan over the last few decades.
  2. In the month of November, we also observe Women's Day on November 19, 1998. Bhagavan Baba has talked at length about the great role played by women in fostering truth and righteousness in society. Sai Darshan is pleased to present a selection of Women's Day Discourses.

  1. This year, the Global Akhanda Bhajan (24 hour continuous bhajan) is being done all over the world on November 7-8 (6:00 p.m. on November 7th to 6:00 p.m. on November 8th). Sai Darshan invites all to ponder and discuss the meaning and purpose behind this global activity, by reading the Akhanda Bhajan Divine Discourses by our dear Lord.

For example you can see Gems 51 to 100 by choosing link 2 etc.

  1. Sai Darshan wishes all its readers A HAPPY, JOYOUS DEEPAVALI. This year, Deepavali, the festival of lights, is being celebrated on October 19, 1998. Bhagavan Baba has spoken a lot about the origin of this festival and its significance for the spiritual seeker. Sai Darshan is pleased to share some of these gems with all of you.

  1. Dasara is a ten day festival that begins with the first day of the month of Aashvayuja in the Lunar calendar. The first nine nights, Devi Navaraatri, are dedicated to the maternal feminine Shakti aspect of the Divine. The tenth day is Vijaya Dasami, commemorating the day that Rama achieved victory over Ravana. This year, Dasara is being celebrated from September 21, 1998 to October 1, 1998. Bhagavan Baba has spoken about the inner significance of this very important festival on a number of occasions. Sai Darshan is happy to share some of these Divine Words with its readers.

  3. The Bhajan section has been enhanced to provide Devanaagari versions of all the Bhajans. You now have the option of viewing the English or Devanaagari version of any Bhajan. In order to view the Devanaagari version, you need to download the XDVNG Devanaagari font. We thank Nandu Abhyankar and Shree for providing the Devanaagari versions of the Bhajans.

  1. In the month of May, we celebrate Eswaramma Day (May 6, 1998). This is the day when Eswaramma, who was the mother of Bhagavan Baba in His present incarnation, attained His Lotus Feet. This day is celebrated as children's day with a view to remind them of the boundless affection and love showered on them by their mothers. Bhagavan Baba has talked about the ideal represented by Eswaramma and motherhood in general.
